WHAT ARE VECTOR DISEASES?

They are diseases transmitted by so-called "vectors" and mainly affect our pets, although they can also affect humans.

.

For the disease to develop, a vector such as the flea, tick or mosquito always has to act.

Vectors are parasites that, without suffering from the disease, transmit it to other animals. They act as a "warehouse": they bite a sick animal to "catch" the disease and then when they bite a healthy animal they infect it.

HOW ARE VECTOR DISEASES TRANSMITTED?

HOW ARE THEY DIAGNOSED?

The vast majority of them are diagnosed by a blood test that we routinely perform at the Vetersalud Centers and the Petsalud Alliance.

.

Once we know that our pet is free from vector diseases, prevention against external parasites is the best protection against vector diseases.

DO YOU HAVE TREATMENT?

They all have treatment, and it is all the more effective the sooner the disease is diagnosed, that is why at Vetersalud and Alianza Petsalud we carry out campaigns for the early detection of vector diseases.

HOW ARE THEY PREVENTED?

Once we know that our pet is free of vector diseases, prevention against external parasites is the best protection.
